Surely everyone has bought online coupons or vouchers through various websites offering great deals or has at least seen/heard of them. Thanks to one of these sites, Deals.com.sg and Nuffnang, some other bloggers and i were given the opportunity to catch Chingay 2012!

This year, Chingay was held at the Singapore Pit Building where the Singapore Grand Prix was!

Centered on the theme of "Love, Care and Kindness Everywhere", the most special thing about Chingay this year is that the parade was on a waterway! :0
Poor paraders were all drenched before parading the streets.

And of course, who doesn't love goodie bags?!

Especially one with a D.I.Y windmill kit made of recycled materials! [Although the big envelop used to pack the windmill kit and the instruction slip aren't very environmental-friendly. =X]

I had to take this chance to flaunt my camera's panorama mode. Hahaha.

First up, the super happy-looking dragon!

Gotta love this picture above! Most epic happy faced dragon caught in the moment!
And its reunion with the phoenix.

Followed by performances presented by various cultural groups and communities.

Showcase of Chinese Culture featuring "踏歌" (Ta Ge) Chinese Classical Dance of Han Dynasty accompanied by brilliantly lit float.

The girls on the float were so pretty and porcelain-looking! For a moment i couldn't tell if they were real!

Next was the showcase of Indian Culture.

Colourful elephants

and a resplendent swan float.

Then, the international acts from countries such as Taiwan and Indonesia.

Furry lions and a colourful komodo dragon which i suppose was a hybrid of a komodo and a chameleon. XD

Not being racist but i concluded that Asian is a cuter and bubblier race. Look at the girls! I just can't picture teenage (or probably older) girls of any other race dancing around like that.

I have no idea what this is. Eel?

The Malay-Muslim Cultural showcase.

Breathtaking tai chi fan dance performed by 1,000 Interest Group members from various Community Clubs.

Nothing beats these beautiful horses throttling down the waterway!

For the grand finale, 1000 performers stream across the waterway surrounding three giant sailboats with thunder and lightning effects depicting the challenges faced by humankind and performing to the Grand Finale song "Love Will Make You See"
