Chingay 2012

Surely everyone has bought online coupons or vouchers through various websites offering great deals or has at least seen/heard of them. Thanks to one of these sites, Deals.com.sg and Nuffnang, some other bloggers and i were given the opportunity to catch Chingay 2012!

This year, Chingay was held at the Singapore Pit Building where the Singapore Grand Prix was!

Centered on the theme of "Love, Care and Kindness Everywhere", the most special thing about Chingay this year is that the parade was on a waterway! :0
Poor paraders were all drenched before parading the streets.

And of course, who doesn't love goodie bags?!

Especially one with a D.I.Y windmill kit made of recycled materials! [Although the big envelop used to pack the windmill kit and the instruction slip aren't very environmental-friendly. =X]

I had to take this chance to flaunt my camera's panorama mode. Hahaha.

First up, the super happy-looking dragon!

And its reunion with the phoenix.

Followed by performances presented by various cultural groups and communities.

Showcase of Chinese Culture featuring "踏歌" (Ta Ge) Chinese Classical Dance of Han Dynasty accompanied by brilliantly lit float.

The girls on the float were so pretty and porcelain-looking! For a moment i couldn't tell if they were real!

Next was the showcase of Indian Culture.

and a resplendent swan float.

Then, the international acts from countries such as Taiwan and Indonesia.

Furry lions and a colourful komodo dragon which i suppose was a hybrid of a komodo and a chameleon. XD

Not being racist but i concluded that Asian is a cuter and bubblier race. Look at the girls! I just can't picture teenage (or probably older) girls of any other race dancing around like that.

I have no idea what this is. Eel?

missCherry❤L Bakes! VI ♡ Homemade Pancakes

I realised how most people conveniently buy pancake mix from the supermarkets, not knowing how easy it actually is to make the batter at home.

When i first told Lockie that im gonna make some pancakes, he said: "Yay! But do we have the mix at home?" No, we don't, but we can make it! And when my girlfriends suggested to make pancakes, i got really excited until i saw the bottle of pancake premix. Lol!

I never like using any premix, not for cakes, not for cookies, not for pancakes! Because i feel like it's cheating. Besides, what are used as substitutes for liquid ingredients in these premixes are questionable and there's a limit to the amount of preservatives i want in my food, just as my theory for commercial dog food; you don't know what's really inside and there's a reason for it's long shelf life. Not to mention, you can modify the recipe of homemade mixes according to one's preference!

So here, im gonna share a simple recipe for some fluffy pancakes and cinnamon spread that goes perfectly well with pancakes or just toasts!

The ingredients for the pancakes are simple, just remember it's a 1:1:1 ratio.
1 cup Flour (½ cup All-Purpose Plain Flour, ½ cup Self-Raising Flour)
1 Egg (lightly beaten)
1 cup Milk
30grams Salted Butter

That makes about 6 pancakes depending on the size of your pan and how thick you want each pancake to be.

1. Melt the butter in a microwave and set aside to let it cool. Do not overheat it and burn the butter!

2. Sift both flour into a bowl and mix the 2 kinds of flour thoroughly.

3. Add the beaten egg and milk. Mix until everything is well incorporated.

4. Pour in the melted butter and stir well.

5. Cover the batter with cling wrap and leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare some yummilicious cinnamon spread to go with the pancakes! ♥
[I suggest that you make heaps of this, like double portion! Store it in a container in the fridge and spread it on your breakfast toasts!]
All you need is:
113 grams Salted Butter
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon

Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl while melting the butter in a microwave and pour in the warm melted butter to dissolve the dry ingredients. Stir well and into the fridge!

Now back to the pancakes.

6.0. Pan the pancakes! :D Attention, you will need a nonstick pan. Do not attempt with a wok or you will end up with stir-fried pancakes as shown in the following image:

I repeat, YOU NEED A NONSTICK PAN.

6.1. Heat the pan and grease it with a little bit of butter and scoop the batter onto the pan.

6.2. When bubbles begin to appear on the surface, flip the pancake. That's the trickiest part. Toss the pancake above a plate so you can salvage it even if you fail. Alternatively, you can use a thin spatula to flip it. Practice makes perfect. Good luck!

6.3. Cook the underside for 1 to 2 minutes until browned.

And there you have one pancake!

Repeat Step 6 for the rest of the batter and tada~!

Hey guys! So here my Christmas & New Year post!
At the end of this post, i'll also be sharing a recipe for M&M Brownie Bars. ;)

For Christmas, i got my first and early present from Mann with a little card!

She's the sweetest friend ever! She even bought me bras, lol! So intimate!

On Christmas Eve, I went out with my dear Sheep, Gen and Cherr for lunch and to exchange Christmas presents!

Gen wasn't in the mood for pictures, so it's just Cherr and me. :(

Speaking of Christmas presents for my Sheep, i went to Gen's place the other day and saw that she's still using that mug i gave her for the previous Christmas! Yay! :D

Then that night, i rocked out to the club with my freshly dyed burgundy and extended pink hair! Woohoo! Checked with friend and it was Rebel and Zirca that we went, sorry for being such a noob on that video in my previous post. Hehe.

Attended Mann's solemnization on Christmas itself and then to Serene's place for dinner. Yums!

Made some M&M brownie bars and spent new year's eve at Serene's too.

Dogtails aside, we had teppanyaki and steamboat for new year's eve dinner! Wee~!

After dinner, we went to join my grandparents to catch the new year fireworks at SengKang!

We were suppose to party after that but no cabs were willing to be caught in the jam in the city! So we all went back to my place to drink instead with music blasting from my iPhone dock. House party. Muahahaha. Tried to order maccas but estimated time for delivery was 1.5hr!! Wthwthwth. Why is everyone eating maccas on new year?? So we walked out to my neighbourhood for prata. :D Hangout till 5am. Much fun!

Went to MeiZhen's 21st on the 1st. Haha!

That's about all for my Christmas and New Year back in Singapore~

On the other hand, my parents went to Europe for their Christmas and New Year and came back with heaps of loots!

Louboutin!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤!

It's mum's, not mine. The pair i wanted from the S/S collection wasn't out yet. :(
Me wants Louboutin!! I fancy shoes more than dresses or bags. Sexy stilettos, hot booties, crazy wedges, cute thongs, chic flats and sandals make my eyes sparkle!

Mum got me a Chanel bag for New Year though! :)

Twins! How cute!

Mum bought 3 Hermès, 1 Chanel, and 2 Longchamp; 6 bag in total for grandma, herself, and me. =O *Salute to shopaholic mummy*

Alrighto, now for the baking junkies!

You'll need:
625 grams All-Purpose Plain Flour
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
113 grams Unsalted Butter (Soften)
118 grams Vegetable Shortening [you can get it from Phoon Huat or any baking specialist]
1 cup Brown Sugar
½ cup Pure White Sugar
3 Large Eggs
4 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
2 tablespoons Sour Cream (do not use low-fat or nonfat)
400 grams M&M Candies

1. Preheat oven to 180°C.

2. Sift and combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

3. Beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Add both sugar and beat on medium speed until mixture is light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time to the mixture in Step 3, beating until just blended after each addition.

5. Add the vanilla extract and sour cream; beat on low speed to incorporate.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients, beating on low to form a soft dough.

7. Stir in M&M manually.

8. Grease the baking pan with butter if it is not a nonstick pan. Transfer the soft dough into the baking pan and bake it in the oven for 25 minutes.

9. After 25 minutes, cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes or until just set at the center.

And here you have a colourful brownie slab!

10. Transfer slab onto a chopping board and cut into smaller bars.

And viola~!

Yea, im alive.
I know i haven't been blogging for tooooo long and disappointed many of you who came to my blog expecting updates for a million times. Now im back!
I had always wanted to resume blogging i never knew where to begin, thus, i decided to do a vlog instead.
It's a 22-minute video, so be prepared to glue yourself to the screen. You must be really interested in me or my study-abroad experience to watch the entire thing. Lol.
Warning: Please expect super weird accent.

Last but not least, my blog post is never complete without some vain camwhored pictures. Buahahaha!
Was just testing out the remote control for my camera and did some self-shots. I love my new camera! But it's funny how i have a remote in my hand in all of the photos. Hahaha!
You'd also probably wanna know that the pink streaks are hair extensions. Im not going to dye my hair pink again because it caused too much damage previously and im scared of bleach now.

Im considering fashion blogging so i have more excuses to be vain and take more self-shots. XP
Anyway, I'll probably be joining Nuffnang AU as well so i get to go to blogger events in AU and won't lose touch with the blogosphere and feel more motivated to blog. =D

Rich Old Men

Aloha everyone!
Im finally back after a hiatus due to the death of my laptop's motherboard. Fixed it under warranty. But i will like to warn any of you who is considering HP laptops, this is my second HP laptop and both i have had their motherboards dead before they were 2 years old. This is the last time im trusting HP.

Faulty motherboards aside, this is gonna be a wall-of-text (with just one image to spice it up) kinda post where i will be expressing my thoughts while i was bathing. They are too much to squeeze into the 140-word tweets, so i decided that they should come here.

Today, a rich old man told me a story proudly of another rich old man who changed his will and not give his children a cent but all his inheritance to charity before he eventually passed away.
Reason for the change was that one of his sons commented that he is old-fashioned; outdated.

Do you think that rich old man died happily while holding such stupid grudge against his own son?

Don't get me wrong, i have nothing against rich men donating their inheritance to charities instead of leaving their fortunes for their family. In fact, there's one man whom i admire that is doing the exact thing, and that's Bill Gates. I am perfectly fine with the idea of donating your fortunes and let your kids be independent, but for the right reasons. Holding grudge against a criticism is obviously not the right reason.

This story tells me nothing but that many rich and old men are stubborn and refuse to evolve with the world and adapt to changes simply because they succeeded in their time. They failed to understand that people do not stop learning when they grow old; people grow old when they stop learning.

Yummilicious Feast, oh FEAST!

Last Saturday, i embarked on a Yummilicious Feast adventure at Icon Village (12 Gopeng Street) which the itinerary included 8 restaurants and cafes, consisting of 5 that served main courses and 3 served desserts!
Now you know i can really eat! Muahahahaas...
So reviews are as followed:

#1) KUMO Japanese Kaiseki Restaurant

Fresh seafood awaiting the knife!

Very friendly and even smiled for the cameras. :)
And with his talented pair of hands,
he prepared these!

From left to right: lightly torched sea bream, crystal bay prawn, pike eel, octopus, sea urchin

The pike eel was my favorite! Unlike the usual Unagi which is the freshwater eel, pike eel can be found throughout the Indo-Pacific and south-western Australia in seawater, hence, it doesn't bear the muddy taste.

Im not a fan of octopus, but everything was really fresh! I love sea urchins and i've tried them in many Japanese restaurants, however, this was the freshest so far! The prawn was fresh and crunchy too!

Besides the seafood, the Wasabi was also freshly grated!

#2) SALTA Argentine Parrilla & Grocer
Located just beside KUMO restaurant.
"Parrilla" stands for "grill" in Spanish and needless to say, the restaurant is filled with the fragrance of coal-grilled meat on a 5-metre long charcoal fired grill.

We sampled the Parrillada (mixed grilled) for 4 pax which includes beef sirloin, beef skirt, lamb rack, chicken thigh, black hog pork loin, pork sausage, and some grilled vegetables.
Meat lovers, you are permitted to drool.
I like the lamb best and the chicken came in second for its crispy tasty skin!
The beef are directly imported from Argentine and are all free range grass-fed, thus, no worries that they are any products of or related to the recent issue of live caters exported from Australia to Indonesia being tortured by cold-blooded Indonesians. *peace*

The Parrillada was also accompanied by 3 types of sauces which pair perfectly with the different meats.

#3) Pizzeria L'Operetta
Watch as the chefs prepare your yummilicious pizzas!
The doughs for the pizzas' crust were fermented for 24 hours to ultimately present you the crispy-on-the-outside-and-springy-on-the-inside pizzas!

Based over a traditional Italy imported wood oven under 500 degree celsius, your pizza will be ready in merely 70 seconds!

It was in fact, my favorite pick of the day!
With tomato sauce, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, ham, mushrooms and egg.
Yes, EGG! I never thought pizzas would taste good with eggs, but it was fantastic!
I love love love the pizza and i will definitely go back for it.

#4) Ramen Culture
We had Super Black Pig Shabu Ramen with roasted pork rice.
Honestly speaking, it didn't really impress me.
I did not like the texture of the ramen and the soup was too salty.

Nevertheless, the Ox-Tail Beef Ramen was not bad.
The soup was tasty though i find it a little too oily. *health conscious*

#5) Muffets Room
I like the mascot, i like the signboard, i like the menu,
AND I LIKE THE FOOD!!!

Their popular Beer-Battered Fish & Chips was super dope!
The flour wasn't too thick and crispy, and it's juicy on the inside!

Muffets also serves daily pastas and im glad i had linguine in creamy sauce because i prefer cream base over tomato base pastas and my favorite choice of pasta is linguine! *happy happy*
I was already filled almost to the brim by then but i just couldn't stop taking more and more strands of pasta to my plate!

#6) Whips Cupcakes
As most of you, my loyal and beloved readers will know, i love to bake cupcakes and these cupcakes at Whips brought me a new level of understanding for good cupcakes!

The Red Velvet Cupcake was very fluffy despite the exquisitely small size and was moist yet not too wet inside.
Topped with sinful cream cheese buttercream, it could really compete with cupcakes i made! XP Hehehehee..

#7) Pâtisserie Glacé
Bringing the best of Japan's cakes, pies, cookies and tarts to Singapore, it is helmed by Chef Higashiguchi Tomoko who believes that all ingredients must be of the highest quality without any preservatives.
Their Strawberry Shortcakes are the best-sellers.
And i'd say the Earl Grey Tiramisu is a must-try!
Im a big fan of Tiramisu and my bf loves Earl Grey tea, and this is like our relationship, us as one. Lol!! Ok, whatever, just go and try.

#8) Frost Bites
I know, frost bites (the medical condition) are nasty, but not this!

Offering frozen yogurts in various flavors such as original, greek style, yakult, mango, strawberry, peach, green tea, blueberry, honeydew and green apple, you can select all sorts of fun and yummy toppings to go with your healthy dessert treat!

I chose Oreo and marshmallows, and my yogurt looked kinda like McFlurry. Hahahaas.
Their yogurt is firm and isn't too sour nor too sweet, and certainly makes you no less happy than any ice-cream will. ;D

With that, my Yummilicious Feast adventure ended well. ♥

Turning your Lalaland into Laddaland...

New movie alert for fellow horror movie lovers!
It's a Thai horror movie, opening on the 9th of June, that's tomorrow!

Went for its preview with JH on Monday.
This 2 words were a great encouragement for people to go into the cinema early. Hahahaas!
I'd usually see people taking their own sweet time to walk into the cinema hall even after the time stated on the ticket because everyone knows that there will be 15 minutes of advertisement before the movie really start.
But when it's a free seating movie, you'll see the cinema hall already 3-quarter filled before the advertisement even start. Lol! People...
If only wedding dinners are free seating, there wouldn't be a "tradition" of everyone arriving late and that the food will only be served 2 hours later.

Basically, the movie is about a family, parents with 2 children, moving in to their new house in this village called Laddaland, and creepy things began to happen in the village after a Burmese maid was killed in one of the houses.
Spoiler: There were more than one ghost featured in the movie, so expect more deaths than just the Burmese maid's.

I would rate this horror film pretty well. Probably ❤❤❤❤♡. :)
The plot was touching to some and the whole movie really managed to freak me out!
My bf begs to differ though. He said it's rather cliche. Nevertheless, i caught him being startled once anyway (due to a sudden dog bark, lol!).
Disappointing to many as i overheard others' conversations, the death of the maid was not explained in the end of the movie.
One thing i realized throughout the whole movie was that the characters didn't have to bathe. Lol! So if you're the kind (like me) who tends to think too much after watching horror movies, you're safe in the bathroom.

Her size does not make her less loyal, less protective towards me and the household, nor less affectionate.
Afterall, she still bears traits of a dog, not a cat, a hamster or a rat, despite her size.
She has no less to give nor less deserving than a dog you will consider as standard (more dog-liked sized).
Just so you know, a Yorkshire is not a timid little lap dog. They were bred to hunt.
So think twice before you say "she's too small to be considered a dog."

2 Years and Counting!

There were people asking me about my relationship with my bf when my Formspring account was still active (example).
Since some of you are concern, here's a post on our 2nd anniversary date on the 28^th of April. :D
No, we did not go and cut our hair. We went for a meal at Caramel Cafe! :D

While JH ordered Spaghetti with Salmon in House Special Pink Sauce.
I regretted my order and exchanged mine with his in the end. So you kinda know what to order if you happen to go there. Hahaas.

Cakes, pudding, and creme brulee.

Had a pot of Earl Grey for 2,
Chocolate Mint Cupcake and Bread & Butter Pudding.

It's one of the signature!
Served with a scope of vanilla ice cream.
Very unique and sinful.
The bread is exceptionally thick yet soft with what i suppose to be caramel. It's a bit like french toast.
The creamy sauce you see is not melted ice cream but, BUTTER. Lotsa butter!
Im not sure about you but i am a butter lover.
What can i say? Ultimate fattening! But it's a must-try.

I love cupcakes! So 2 photos for it.
We couldn't down the cupcake by then and had to takeaway.
I brought it home and enjoyed it by myself in the middle of the night. Muahahahaas.
It was good. The cupcake itself was just plain dark chocolate cake. While the frosting tasted like the Choco Mini candy.
I shall bake some chocolate mint cupcake next time too! :)

I got JH a mini digital camera as an anniversary gift.
I told him a very romantic reason for it besides the fact that he didn't have a camera; to record our memories together. *sheepish grin*

I actually asked him what color he wants for his gift (without telling him what it is) and he said pink. Hahaas!

Roulette Red

Bought this red lipstick from Christian Dior a couple months back after watching Burlesque but never had the chance to wear it. So since i had make up on for a short shopping trip today, i went on to try it before removing my make up.
Diorific 013 - Rouge Bingo - Roulette Red.
I just realized that i have pretty nice lips because i never have to photoshop them! I think it's probably due to my mum's genes in which they inherited the most as compared to my other features. ☺

Well, it's been a while since you all were last bombard with my self-indulged photos! So don't complain.

The Purring Dog

This was rather random [that i wasn't even made up and Chloe was a bit ungroomed].
I was playing my usual games with Chloe and thought i'd wanna share this with you!

Every time i hear a cat purring, i'd be reminded of Chloe despite her being a dog. Because that's the sound she makes whenever she's irritated. And the best way to irritate her is to squeeze her like what i did in this video.
Just so if you don't wanna be bored by seeing a girl squeezing her dog, the highlight starts from point 0:36.

Launch & Movie Night at Eng Wah

Was invited to Eng Wah Cinemas' Launch and Movie Night last Tuesday (19^th Apr)!
A very warm welcome with drinks and some light refreshments served. :)

Eng Wah Cinemas is now known as We Cinemas, presenting a new and even better cinema experience!
The event was held at the newly revamped Suntec City branch which is located on the 3^rd level of Tower 3.
Moviegoers can hangout and chill at the designated lounge before the movie starts. ;)
Asked Mann along and watched "Arthur" that night.
Both our bags are from Samantha Thavasa! ;D

We were given popcorns and Vitamin Water.
A movie gift card was attached to each popcorn box!

I read about Arthur on IMDb and the ratings weren't very good, so i didn't expect too much until i watched the trailer:
And i wasn't disappointed at all!
It was a great comedy with a meaningful plot. Very sweet courtship and touching ending as well.
Really, Arthur was a very sweet guy! I kinda missed my bf while i was watching it. Lol!
Oh and i like his accent. Hahaaas.
I guess the people who underrated the movie simply did not understand the story, whereas i could somehow relate to it.
I'd rate it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤♡♡♡.

By the way, I was wearing a romper tee dress, if you noticed.
Seriously, i cannot express how much i LOVE romper dresses!
They are short yet safe, pretty yet fun! Suitable for almost any occasion.
The one i was wearing to the event is from Grail.
I have a similar one in pink too! :D

I was suppose to upload one of these 2 to my photo update section the other day but i couldn't decide which to.
I looked better in the first but Chloe looked better in the latter.
So i decided to put up both in a post instead. Lol!

Some donuts for your hair?

I don't know if you have seen this but i just discovered it yesterday and im here to share with you the most awesome invention ever. Ever!
And that's this:
The hair bun donut!
It's like a velcro bumpit but for a bun.

If you thought this
is good, this (donut) is even better. MUCH BETTER!

Here's how it works:
Step one, tie your hair into a ponytail where you want the bun to be.
I like it high on the side.

Next, insert the ponytail into the donut hole.

Pull open your ponytail as shown in the picture.

Twirl your hair around the donut until the donut is fully covered with your hair.

Tuck the tail in and under the bun.

Shape the bun with your hands. Yup, like playdough.

& deng deng deng deng~!
You get a lovely, fluffy, big and neat hair bun without a single pin!

Decorate your hair bun with any accessories without worrying about ruining it!

I bet everyone is gonna ask you whether your bun is a wig, and you can proudly say that it's your real hair!

Fujifilm Instax Mini 25

Remember i mentioned about getting an instant camera?
Well if you followed me on Twitter, you should have known by now that i've gotten a Fujifilm Instax Mini 25!
I love it!
And i have to thank Mann for helping me to search for the most reliable seller who offers the best price. I got it at $168. ^^
I changed my mind for the Hello Kitty edition because it's $30 more for just a small little Hello Kitty printed on a corner. Not worth it. I'd rather buy it $30 cheaper and use that amount to buy deco bits to decorate it by myself (which i did).

Getting a new instant camera is not cheap, because it comes with the price of all the accessories!
Honestly, i never liked Korean products (food is exceptional) nor am i a fan of K-pop or K-drama.
But they just impressed me with all the camera accessories!

I got most of the things from Styleflap.
The casing.

Leather hand and neck straps.

Leather album which can hold up to 60 pictures.

And a unique wooden album!

The non-StyleFlaps are some "burnt" photo frame, mini clip set,

photo stickers and markers.

This is called the Popcorn pen. The ink suppose to pop up like popcorns when it meets the air.
I have not tried so not sure if it works.

And of course i've bling-ed my cam up!

And i turned it into a rose garden with these.
Topped it up with some crystals and done!

Brought Chloe to East Coast Park with my sheep & Valerie yesterday and Chloe was all exhausted by the time we're home after the long walk and bathe.
She was very lazy and ... her reflex was uncontrollable?
This was my mum tickling her and look at how she kicked even after mummy stopped. Lol!

Like any other earthlings, Chloe gets frustrated very easily when she's tired and moody too!

I have a PINK dog!

It's my mum's birthday on the lunar calendar today!
So as tradition, my grandma made a pair of "red eggs" (hard-boiled eggs with red dyed shells) for her.
I went to the kitchen and found this:

I was gonna bath her anyway and food-coloring is quite harmless, so i decided that i want a pink dog. Hehehehee...

Feeding Chloe

is a tedious job.
I think she needs another dog at home to snatch her food.
This is what i need to do when she starts to get tired of her food:
See how i had to act like im interested to snatch the kibbles from her?
After 2 and a half minutes, i've only managed to feed her 6 kibbles..
By the end of the meal, i believe she's hungry again from the "snatching game".

Brought this furbaby to meet Mann at Doggiestyle Cafe yesterday. The boss noted that i've been bringing different people there every time i visit. Hahahaas.

These 2 girls are from PeiCai Secondary. Met them at the cafe with a Pomeranian. They were very outspoken and were complimenting that i looked very pretty and looked like a princess which made me super super embarrassed! One even said that the other wanted to befriend me because im very pretty. And when i told them that they are rather sweet-looking themselves too, one of them replied. "ya, i know." Hahahaas! Damn cute.

Basically, people who knew me well enough would have knew that i had a navel piercing around a year ago. Nevertheless, it was accidentally tugged a few times and only a thin layer of skin and barely some flesh was holding it. No, it wasn't a rejection because i had the piercing on for over a year and it was all right till then. I was afraid that the piercing might just get ripped off, so i removed it and let it heal.

Actually i've always loved those sassy killer heels from Guess, so not exactly recent, and this is my third and favorite pair!

The glitters are just like those of O.P.I Sparkle-icious (Burlesque collection).
Just what i was looking for and it was love at first sight. :)

I also realized that Guess's stilettos are of the same height.
Was wearing another pair of heels from Guess when i was trying this pair out at the store, didn't have to limp when i was wearing different heels on each feet. Hahaas.

Besides that, JH bought me a new watch (which i've been eyeing for some time) from Guess too! ♥~

I don't know why but i have a thing for roses now..
There's a similar piece with a smaller watch face that comes with a bracelet but the set was sold out.
However, i was advised by many that watches with bigger faces give a younger look, so no regrets. ☺

See my happy nails? Wahahaas!
Well, this isn't exactly a tutorial because it's too easy to even require teaching.
I'd say this is more of inspiring you on what you can do with your nails when you want them cute yet simple!

Firstly, trim, file and shape your nails; preferably in oval shapes.
Tip: If you're looking for a good nail filer, this is the one,
Sold at any Sephora outlets, made of glass.
The thing about glass filers, they don't wear off and you never have to change a new one.

After getting your nails into perfect shape and length, apply a layer base coat.
Over here, im using O.P.I Original Nail Envy which is a nail strengthener.

For the base color, i used [11] Lemon Cream by Canmake.
A brighter yellow would be even better.

Before you start drawing, apply a layer of top coat. I'll tell you why later.

Now, you can express your creativity!
With a black polish (im using 'It's "Coal" Outside!' by O.P.I) and a thin nail art brush, draw cute faces on each nail!
Examples:

This actually reminds me of Pikachu. Wahahahaas.

You can also add things like "pop-up veins",

or even a bow!

Coat your masterpieces with another layer of top coat and that's it! :)
So why did you need to apply a layer of top coat before drawing?
Because the layer of top coat separates the layer of base color and the drawings, thus, your faces will not smudge when you apply the final layer of top coat!

Have fun with your "faces"!
They look like they are happily eating your food when you eat with your hand! :D

Or simply camwhore with them!
Ok, i know this photo has nothing to do with the nails. But i can't be bothered, im a camwhore queen! *Attempt to give a bitchy grin and snap!* Muahahahaas!

I shall end this with another tip:
If you're always frustrated over removing stubborn nail polishes (especially those with glitters) like me, here's your solution.
ParaDo ParaDo Nail Pot!
Put your finger into the pot with your nail facing the sponge, turn the pot left and right, and *bling bling* your nail is naked. =O

Yes, the anticipated baking tutorial is back!
This time, it's Cookies & Cream Cupcakes. ♥

Ingredients needed:
[Cupcakes]
90grams Dark Chocolate
125ml Light (Single) Cream
150grams All-Purpose Plain Flour
2 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (Sifted)
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
⅛ teaspoon Salt
90grams Unsalted Butter (Soften)
200grams Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
2 Eggs (Lightly beaten)
6 Orea Cookies

[Topping]
100grams Unsalted Butter (Softened)
½ tablespoon Milk
120grams Confectioners' (Icing) Sugar
2 Orea Cookies

Without further ado,
preheat oven to 170°C.

Melt the chocolate and cream in a double boiler.
Break the chocolate into smaller pieces so it melts faster.
Stir until smooth.
Let cool.

Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

With an electric mixer on medium-high speed, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla until pale and creamy.
Add the beaten eggs one at a time.

With mixer on low speed, add in the mixed dry ingredients.

Add in the melted chocolate as well.

Crush the Oreo cookies
into coarse bits like these:

Stir in the bits manually.

Fill each paper-lined muffin cup three-quarter full and bake for 25-30 minutes.
And watch your babies grow!
Ding!
Your cupcakes are ready!
While letting them cool, prepare the topping.

Beat butter with milk in electric mixer on medium-high speed until pale and creamy.
Gradually add the confectioners' sugar.

Similarly, stir in the coarsely crushed Oreo cookies by hand.

Lastly, place a dollop of the cream on each cupcake
and you're done! :)

Attended a Nuffnang Glitterati Plus Bloggers' event last Thursday.
Both my sheep got invited too!
So before the event, my blue sheep, Cherring came to my place to have her hair done by me.
Pictures before heading out.
All ready for the event! ;)

Let me give you a couple of clues to what the event is.
Firstly, the title suggested it.

It's the launch of the Puma Social Club!
Held at 11 Bali Lane.
Just above Blujaz Cafe.
People behind us were enjoying their food at the cafe and i was hungry! Grrr...
Upon registration, we were given a mini table tennis racket thumb drive, super cute!
Hung out at the entrance for awhile to wait for our white sheep, Genevieve and went up together.

The event was on the 2nd and 3rd levels.
The crowd, the table tennis and table football tables, and the bar.

Hosts of the day were Vanessa and George.

Here's my confession, you won't believe it but, i am not a party girl and it's my first time into a club. Ok luh, i do drink and enjoy drinking once in a while but i don't club.
Neither are my sheep party animals.
See, our table only had... plain water. Lolol!
Gotta drive that night, so couldn't drink.

We don't party, we don't drink, so what do we do?

To be frank, im like the most bimbotic one among my sheep - because they can play Ping Pong and i can't!
Gen was an athlete during her school days and Cherr was a gymnast.

So all i could do while they played table tennis was to be a cameraman. Muahahaa.

And before we left, we were approached by a Puma girl to do some voting, Cherr tried to take a photo of her and me, somehow, i did not realize a photo was taken and gave this ugly face.
Laugh, laugh all you want. The purpose of this photo is to let you laugh at me because readers like to see unglam photos once in a while, right!?

Was starved and had late dinner with sheep at MOS after the event.

I know i tweeted but i also know that many of my readers do not follow me on Twitter and i just have to blog about this.

Mum was showing me old photos and this is grandpa and grandma taken at different time, my grandpa was 14 years old and my grandma was 20 years old in these pictures.
Didn't know grandpa was so handsome with a chin! He's fatter and has no jawline now. Lol!!
Grandma pretty right? She was once a beauty pageant queen! Her paternal grandma is an American, so she has a pair of deep set and blueish grey eyes.. *Envious* :( The genes faded off when it reaches my generation.

This is my rabbit, Wawa! ♥
She's a Lionhead rabbit which i got in 2008, months after the death of Shasha, my Pomeranian.
Wawa helped me get over the tragedy.
These were taken when she first came:
Aww.. I miss that puffy baby face!
She's almost 3 now and still healthy and hopping!
I've heard from many of my friends and people around that rabbits (theirs) die easily.
I do agree that rabbits have very weak hearts which in fact, the smaller the animal, the weaker the heart. They are also very timid and can be easily and literally scared to death.

However, i realized that most of the people who complained that their pet rabbits never lived long made the same mistake, and that is not giving their rabbits hay.
It is often mistaken that pellets all they need.
In actual fact, hay is very very important and essential to them! VERY.
Rabbits groom themselves like cats and therefore, they can swallow a lot of furballs - hay keeps things moving inside their system and prevents blockages that may kill them!
A lack of hay can slow down your rabbit's intestinal functions and cause a multitude of problems.
Besides, those long fibers that hay is made from help the muscles of the rabbit's gut stay good and strong.

In short, rabbit pellets only provide nutrition, hay helps to digest.
A pet rabbit's diet should consists of UNLIMITED hay, a small amount of pellets, and fresh clean water. Feed your pet rabbits some pellets once or twice a day, but have the hay and water unrestrictedly accessible.

These are some of the different hays you can give your rabbits.
In my opinion, Timothy hay is the best and Wawa loves it most.

Another fact: A rabbit passes two distinct types of feces; hard droppings and soft black viscous pellets, the latter of which are re-ingested immediately after pooping to re-digest and extract sufficient nutrients. It's like the sugarcane juice, a sugarcane undergo the juice extractor multiple times so as to extract all its juice. So rabbits eat shit and it is due to the large amounts of cellulose contained in their diet which are hard to digest. Don't be disgusted when you see your rabbits eating its own poop because it's a nutrient-packed dietary item that's essential for their good health. You don't get disgusted when you see a sugarcane drink stall, do you?

Some also asked, "is it correct to pick up rabbits with their ears?"
Answer is NO & NEVER!
That is cruel, causing needless pain as well as damage to the cartilage that supports the ears.
Rabbits have fragile bones, especially in their backs, thus, requiring supports on the belly and bottom when picked up.

It is also not a good idea to have rabbits as pets for young children because they generally do not know how to stay quiet, calm, and gentle around rabbits. [Similarly for other small animals including small dogs.]

Another secret to keeping a rabbit healthy is EXERCISE.
Rabbits need lots of exercise, at least 4 hours a day, to keep them fit.
Exercise deprived rabbits can become aggressive and withdrawn and exhibit signs of obesity and lethargy.
In the meantime, make sure your rabbits are kept in sight during the exercise to avoid injuries, as well as to look out for wires - rabbits like to chew them because they look like tree roots.

Uh huh, now you know how much you did not understand about these amiable little bunnies.
So as SPCA advised, do not get a bunny out of impulsivity just because it's the rabbit year.
A pet is a lifetime commitment.
Do lotsa researches about the species and breed before you decide to introduce a pet into the household.

Valentine's

Before i start on how my Valentine's Day went, here's a little info for you on the origin of the special day. Uh huh, i bet not many of you know, right? ;)

Alrighty, let's begin with what i wore for my Valentine's date! :D
It's a little romper dress from Liz Lisa!
Love romper dresses, because they are adorable and you can never "zao geng".
& i LOVE Liz Lisa even more! All their little skirts are actually skorts. ;)
How i wish that there's a Liz Lisa flagship store in Singapore... :(

As mentioned in one of the previous post, i was given a complimentary meal for 2 at Re!Fill.
So my bf and i popped down to Hotel Re! on Valentine's for lunch.

Before anything was served, we ordered 2 glasses of fruit punch which are out of the set menu.

Appetizer was Smoked Salmon Caesar Salad.
Crunchy vegetables with fresh smoked salmon and some bacon bits. I like the croutons but they are a little bit too oily. Honest comments. :)

Soup, Crab Bisque Scented with Chervil.
This is good! Very good.

As for the main course, JH had salmon.
I stole a bit and i liked the creamy sauce. ;)

I had BBQ chicken.
Very tender meat.
And ohhh~ the skin!
I saved the best for the last - my dear chicken skin. Wahahaas!

My favorite part of every meal were then served.
Hotel Re! Temptation Delight.

Vanilla ice cream topped with berries.
I guess vanilla is always the all-time favorite.

Mango panna cotta.
I don't know about you but i always like panna cottas. Some people thinks panna cottas are like vomit. *Shrugs*

Mango cake.
Fragrance of the mango and soft cake baked just right, what else can i say?

Lastly, chocolate!
I don't really know what it is but anything with chocolate is nice to me! Hahaas.

After the meal, we went to Marina Square (where we first dated) where JH handed me a paper bag from Chomel with these inside:
It's a bracelet from Chomel and movie tickets for Black Swan which i wanted very much to watch! :)
Bling bling~

We then took romantic little walks at the Esplanade and chilled at Rock & Ash for some finger food before the movie.
I like this photo of JH! Was teaching him not to smile too widely in pictures to avoid having overstretched mouth and fat face. Hahahaas!
His hands look big though. Reminds me of the boxing kangaroo. Lol!

Had fries with chili mayo~
and fried chicken. With garlic mayo which i think was quite good.

The day ended with the movie, Black Swan staring Natalie Portman as a ballerina who yearns for the role as the Swan Queen in a production of Swan Lake which is required to play both the innocent, fragile White Swan and the darkly sensual Black Swan, Nina (Portman) then finds a dark side to herself.
I find the movie rather intriguing. In my opinion, it's the darker side that everyone has that was repressed in her which she found it hard to express, and that darker side fought to take over and it became a split personality. Well, that's just my way of interpreting the movie while you can always think otherwise.
In summary, im giving it ❤❤❤❤♡.

Oh yes, of course i got him a Valentine's gift too. ^^

Attended the private screening of Rabbit Hole at the luxurious Premiere Shaw Theatre at Nex on Tuesday!

So shiny that i can hardly take a proper picture of it.
Tsk tsk tsk, prestigious. Hahahahaas!

Feeling like a VIP~ Wahahaas!

Premiere halls:
50 seats inclusive of two allocated wheelchair lots.

Lunar New Year 2011

It's the Rabbit Year!
So im gonna began the post with the special appearance of Wawa~
Wawa: Happy new year, it's my year! :D

The first thing to do for a new year, spring clean!
I went through my wardrobe and packed 2 big bags of clothings that i will no longer wear and gave them to the salvation army. :)
And there, i now have this many spare hangers! :DD

Next, reunion dinner!
But we had reunion lunch instead. *Shrugs*
Look at the spread prepared by mummy!
There were 10 dishes altogether.

Drooling after seeing all these pictures right? It was a torture for me while editing these pictures in the middle of the night when my stomach was already growling. :(

After all that PCNYS (pre-chinese new year syndrome), i woke up in the early morning of the first day of new year to receive CNY greeting SMSes from my sweetest friends!
And yes, i wore a cheongsam!

Gathered up a ponytail and i think it did well with my cheongsam. :)

Chloe was also wear her purple floral cheongsam!
She's so adorable!

We are the Cheongsam Sisters! Wahahahahahaaas!

Then Chloe drove us out that day. =O

Fast food like KFC was especially popular during public holidays like this and that's what we had for dinner before taking a few more pictures and heading home.

Rabbit Daddy was pulling a huge carrot from the ground while Rabbit Mummy gave support at aside, carrying Rabbit Baby, and Rabbit Girl came running, not sure if she's trying to help her dad or just jealous because her mum wasn't carrying her. Hahahaas!

But this is just a cheongsam top matched with a bandage skirt.
Did the hairdo i shown in Liese's advertorial and topped a floral printed denim corsage.

Chloe was in traditional costume but of the Japanese instead. Hahaas.
Went visiting for awhile and had my sheep, their boyfriends and JH over at my place.

JH and i brought Chloe to Doggiestyle Cafe at NEX on the 3rd day of new year so that she could have fun and meet other furballs during CNY too.
So as she was busy with her new furiends and some other dogs came to steal a drink,
we couldn't care less but enjoyed chilling out there with some chocolate fondant. ;)
It's very good!

And we saw 2 Pekingese!
They aren't very common around.

Exercised Chloe at the playground for awhile and called it a day.
That's about all for the first 3 days of CNY for me and the rest of the days were great because i get to wear new clothes! XP
Tomorrow's gonna be the last day of the 15-day CNY celebration so this is probably the last time you're gonna hear it this year, 新年快乐!

Nuffnang Glitterati Plus

Attended the Nuffnang Glitterati Plus Bloggers' Meet-up last Sunday!

One of my sheep was there with me too. :)

The event was held at Sinema.
Besides screening local films and showcase local work, the purpose of Sinema is also to inspire local filmmaking movement - to encourage Singaporeans to tell their stories cinematically, to bring back the Golden Age of Singapore cinema and preserve its heritage, to nurture new Singaporean filmmakers, and most of all, to develop a professional film industry.
Sinema is the venue sponsor of this event and have also given a pair of tickets for each of us bloggers!

After all the introductions, it was time for an ice-breaking game!
In groups of 5 to 6, we were supposed to complete each task with a polaroid photo evident.

The photos are ours for keeps and i brought back the one which we posed as rabbits:
My team consist of (from left to right in photo) Gen, me, Qiuting, Valerie, and 2 new friends who we met there, Claire and Kevin. :)

In the end, we won the game and got ourselves a Starbucks card each. Muahahahahaas!

Refreshments! The best part of all events for food lovers. ;)

Then was blogging tips sharing session by Ben, Qiuting, and Esther.
I can't remember all the tips but one important point that i caught was to blog frequently!

Dr Leslie Tay, a renown food blogger from ieatishootipost.sg was also there as a guest speaker.
Dr Tay has recently published a book called "The End of Char Kway Teow".
He's talk on how he came about from blog to book was inspiring!
I really admire him for being such a successful man in coping his job as a doctor in his clinic as well as a successful blogger, and he has a great sense of humor.
His advice on taking in critics as a blogger came just in time for me.
Quoted from him, "The guy who criticized your blog might have just came to my blog and criticized me as well. These people are actually very pitiful because they have to spend their nights criticizing people so that it'll make them feel that there are others with sadder lifes than them and will feel better. These are the people who actually need help."
So fellow bloggers, lets not be disheartened! ;)

Yes, Candice DeVille (Super Kawaii Mama) is here all the way from Australia!
She came very late and i thought she wouldn't be here.
I was anticipating to see her since she tweeted about coming to Singapore to attend the event.
I almost stood up and scream when i saw her! Lol..

Not forgeting Dr Leslie Tay.
When i was about to take this picture with him, he asked why wasn't anyone doing those act cute poses with the sign of victory, so i said "ok ok i act cute with you", and i did the ^.^V with pouty mouth while he smiled like a.... 'ehem' ya. Hahahahaas!
Then when he looked at the photo, he said "aiyo cannot, i must do the normal one". Lolol!

I've never thought of relying on my father. These luxuries are just bonuses to me which im prepared to lose anytime.

My ultimate ambition is to own a petshop with multiple outlets and a dog farm. I have never thought about getting the capitals from my father. I have my own plans and i will execute them once im old enough to make my own decisions.

Most girls love shopping and dolling up, be it rich or poor. It's just the quality of shopping and dolling up that differs. While i still can get the best, i will use the best.

And just for your info, my dream car is not a Scirocco but a cheaper and more affordable Beetle. It was not my choice to get a Scirocco.

When there are bonuses in life, enjoy them. When they are gone, just live without them.

I'd also like to add on that things you see in others, may not be exactly what they are going through; you'll never know.

Unlike those cheapskates with very thin fabric and treads can be seen all over, these are of very good quality, especially the bunny suit which is super thick, can withstand winter already. Hahaas! They are buttoned with snap fasteners and not velcro which will stick and pull your baby's fur!
